Wellington Town Council planning meeting August 2008

The PLANNING meeting of Wellington Town Council will be held in the United Reformed Church Hall in Fore Street, Wellington, on MONDAY 4 August 2008 at 6pm. John Hamer, Taunton Deane Borough Council’s Planning Officer, will be in attendance.

3. APPLICATIONS TO BE DETERMINED BY TOWN COUNCIL:

(a) Erection of 2.13m timber fence to boundary of 2 Homefield, Wellington (43/2008/077) The Planning Officer’s report recommending refusal is attached.

(b) Display of non illuminated aluminium projecting sign with vinyl lettering and logos applied to both sides at 1 Station Road, Wellington (43/2008/085A) The Planning Officer’s report recommending approval is attached.

4. TO CONSIDER WHAT COMMENTS TO MAKE ON THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS WHICH WILL BE DETERMINED BY TAUNTON DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL:

(a) Change of use of part of first floor living accommodation to recording studio 14 - 18 North Street, Wellington (43/2008/049). This application had previously been deferred pending receipt of the Environmental Health Officer’s observations. Planning Officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on residential amenity. A letter of objection has been received from the occupants of 8 North Street (attached)
(b) Erection of wall to car park at Mount Veterinary Hospital, 21 High Street, Wellington (43/2008/058LB) Planning Officer’s initial comments: Heritage statement required. Existing and proposed plans required. Full and proper existing and proposed elevations required.
(c) Erection of 4 bedroom dwelling at Hill View, Buckwell, Wellington (43/2008/073)
(d) Erection of agricultural building at Chelston House Farm, Chelston, Wellington (43/2008/075) Planning Officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on visual amenity.
(e) Display of non illuminated fascia sign, non illuminated projecting sign and vinyl logo to window at 7A High Street, Wellington (43/2008/078A) Planning Officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on the character of the building and on visual amenity.
(f) Change of use from A1 Retail Shop to A3 Café, 9 South Street, Wellington (43/2008/087) Planning Officers initial comments: Assess proposal with regard to TDLP policy.
(g) Re-slating of roof with Cambourne slates and replacement of 4 windows with sash windows at 14 Fore Street, Wellington (43/2008/088) Planning Officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on the character and appearance of the listed building.
(h) Erection of a pair of semi detached dwellings on land adjoining 8 Burgage, Wellington (amended scheme to previous permission 43/2006/159) (43/2008/090). Planning Officer’s initial comments: Need to assess visual impacts compared to previous permission. A letter of objection has been received, copy attached.
(i) Application to fell one Wellingtonia tree included in Taunton Deane Borough (no. 1) Tree Preservation Order 1975 at 5 Oldway Park, Wellington (TD 54) Planning Officer’s initial comments: The application will be assessed on site and on the basis of supporting evidence provided. An objection to this proposal has been received (attached)
(j) Application to carry out management works to one Wellingtonia tree included in Taunton Deane Borough (Wellington No 1) Tree Preservation Order 1983 at Priory Court, Priory Gardens, Wellington (TD295) Planning Officer’s initial comments: The application will be assessed on site.
(k) Residential development consisting of 50 Units with associated garages, parking courtyards, roads and footpaths at Cades Farm, Wellington – AMENDED APPLICATION (43/2008/068)
