Wellington Town Council planning meeting May 2008

The MAY PLANNING meeting of Wellington Town Council will be held in the United Reformed Church Hall in Fore Street, Wellington, on MONDAY, 12TH MAY 2008 at 6pm. Mr John Hamer, Taunton Deane Borough Council’s Planning Officer, will be in attendance.

1B. DECLARATION OF INTERESTS
To receive declarations of personal or prejudicial interests, in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

2. APPLICATIONS TO BE DETERMINED BY TOWN COUNCIL:
(a) Change of use of ground floor retail use to dog grooming parlour and ancillary pet supplies 20 Howard Road, Wellington (43/2008/048). One letter of representation received from the adjoining owner, Mrs Pam Corner of 20 Howard Road, expressing concern (enclosed).

3. TO CONSIDER WHAT COMMENTS TO MAKE ON THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS WHICH WILL BE DETERMINED BY TAUNTON DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL:
(a) Change of use of part of first floor living accommodation to recording studio 14 – 18 North Street, Wellington (Mama Stone’s) (43/2008/049): Planning Officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on residential amenity.

(b) Erection of building to provide for ground floor retail units with 7 residential units on the first, second and third floor together with associated car parking 36 High Street, Wellington (43/2008/056). Planning Officer’s initial comments: Will need to assess impact on character of Conservation Area.

(c) Erection of 24 Apartments (Blocks A and B) land to rear of Fore Street and North Street, Wellington (43/2007/185).

Erection of 40 apartments (Blocks C and D) land to rear of Fore Street and North Street, Wellington (43/2007/187).

Erection of 14 Apartments (Block E) land to rear of Fore Street and North Street, Wellington (43/2007/184). Planning Officer’s initial comments: Will be dependent on the views of the Conservation Officer (who has raised concerns at pre application stage) and other consultees.

(d) Erection of dwelling adjacent to 10 Blackberry Court, Wellington (43/2008/047). Planning Officer’s comments: Will need to assess impact on residential amenity and on road safety.

(e) Erection of industrial unit Rylands Farm Industrial Estate, Bagley Road, Rockwell Green (43/2008/044). Planning officer’s comments: Principle already established (outline planning permission already granted), likely to be acceptable.

(f) To fell one sycamore tree within Wellington Conservation Area at 5 Shute Row, South Street, Wellington (43/2008/046T) (Tree not covered by a Tree Preservation Order). Planning Officer’s comments: This application will be assessed on site.

(g) Application to carry out management works to 3 Birch trees included in Taunton Deane Borough (Wellington No 1) Tree Preservation Order 1994 at 15 Willcocks Close, Wellington (43/2008/053T) Planning Officers comments: This application will be assessed on site.

(h) Application to fell one poplar tree in Taunton Deane Borough (Wellington No 1) Tree Preservation Order 1993 at Wellington School Playing Fields (adjacent to Swain’s Lane) (43/2008/054T) Planning Officers comments: This application will be assessed on site.

(i) Application to carry out management work to one Beech tree included in Taunton Deane Borough (Wellington No 5) Tree Preservation Order 1987 at 3 Hoyles Close, Wellington (43/2008/052T). Planning Officer’s comments: This application will be assessed on site.

PLEASE NOTE: COPIES OF ALL PLANNING APPLICATIONS TO BE DETERMINED AND CONSIDERED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL WILL BE ON DISPLAY IN THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH HALL FROM 5.50PM ONWARDS ON MONDAY 12th MAY 2008
