Wellington Town Council planning meeting October 2007
The OCTOBER PLANNING meeting of Wellington Town Council will be held in the United Reformed Church Hall in Fore Street, Wellington, on MONDAY, 1ST OCTOBER 2007 at 6pm. Mr John Hamer, Taunton Deane Borough Council’s planning officer, will be in attendance.

2. APPLICATION TO BE DETERMINED BY TOWN COUNCIL
(a) Demolition of garage and erection of two storey side extension with integral garage, conservatory to rear and porch at 38 Millstream Gardens, Wellington (43/2007/111). The planning officer is recommending refusal (report enclosed). There are no objections from neighbours.
3. TO CONSIDER WHAT COMMENTS TO MAKE ON THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS WHICH WILL BE DETERMINED BY TAUNTON DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL:
(a) Conversion of mill building (former Haymans Coalyard Warehouse) and extension to form 21 two bed apartments and formation of 32 car parking spaces and bike lockers for 42 bikes, Haymans Mill, Payton Road, Westford, Wellington 43/2007/087: Planning officers comments: Will need to assess impact on character of existing building, traffic generation, flood risk mitigation, and impact on wildlife). This application was deferred at both the August and September meeting pending the receipt of the comments of Somerset Highways.
(b) Erection of a terrace of 4 two bedroom cottages and a terrace of 3 two bedroom cottages on land to the rear of the Three Cups, 32-34 Fore Street, Wellington (43/2007/094): Planning officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on visual amenity and road safety).Clerk’s note: There is an existing approval for 2 three bedroom cottages and a four bedroom detached house at the rear of the pub and the conversion of the public house into 3 cottages (43/2007/095LB) has been approved by Taunton DBC. This application was deferred at the September meeting pending the receipt of the comments of Somerset Highways.
(c) Demolition of building and erection of 2 dwellings, phase 1, on land at rear of 14 High Street, Wellington (43/2007/112: Planning officer’s initial comments: Will need to assess visual impact and effect on neighbouring properties on site). This application was deferred at the September meeting pending the receipt of the comments of Somerset Highways.
(d) Demolition of building and erection of 6 dwellings, phase 2, on land at rear of 14 High Street, Wellington (43/2007/113: Planning officer’s initial comments: Will need to assess visual impact and effect on neighbouring properties on site).This application was deferred at the September meeting pending the receipt of the comments of Somerset Highways.
(e) Alterations to access, erection of wall, erection of workshop/barn, formation of earth mound at Burts Farm, Ford Street, Wellington (44/2007/017: Planning officer’s initial comments: Visual impact to be assessed on site). Please note this application is not within our parish but is within the Wellington Without parish. The council is asked for its comments as it may affect properties in our area.
(f) Retention of 2 blackboard signs and 1 externally illuminated projecting sign at Rule 7, 21 High Street, Wellington (43/2007/118LB and 43/2007/120A): Planning officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on the character and appearance of the listed building).
(g) Replacement windows at Over 55 Club, North Street, Wellington (43/2007/138LB: Planning officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on the character and appearance of the listed building).
