Wellington Town Council planning meeting October 2007

The OCTOBER meeting of Wellington Town Council will be held in the main hall of the United Reformed Church in Fore Street, Wellington, on Monday, 1st October 2007 at 7pm.
The council’s planning meeting will also be held on Monday, 1st October 2007 in the URC Church Hall at 6pm for which a separate agenda is enclosed.
Will members please note there will be a special code of conduct session at 5.30pm on Monday, 1st October 2007 in the URC hall and therefore the October Finance Committee meeting will be held in the hall on Monday, 1st October 2007 at 5 pm. An agenda and relevant papers will be issued at the meeting.

3. TO CONSIDER REQUEST FOR THE GRANT PLEDGED FOR THE WELLINGTON RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB TO BE BROUGHT FORWARD
A letter has been received from Wellington Rugby Football Club asking for the council to release the initial amount of £3,750 which was scheduled to come from next years expenditure (total pledge is £7,500) to allow work for the gas main to proceed. The total cost of diverting the main is £7,114.63 and Wales and West Utilities are requesting payment in full with the order for work with an estimated lead time of a minimum of 20 weeks (enclosed with appeal statement and account statement and letter and quotation from Wales and West Utilities: for decision). See minute 14258.

4. TO CONSIDER SOLUTIONS TO TRAFFIC PROBLEMS IN HOLYOAKE STREET

2. APPLICATION TO BE DETERMINED BY TOWN COUNCIL
(a) Demolition of garage and erection of two storey side extension with integral garage, conservatory to rear and porch at 38 Millstream Gardens, Wellington (43/2007/111). The planning officer is recommending refusal (report enclosed). There are no objections from neighbours.

(b) Erection of a terrace of 4 two bedroom cottages and a terrace of 3 two bedroom cottages on land to the rear of the Three Cups, 32-34 Fore Street, Wellington (43/2007/094): Planning officer’s initial comments: Assess impact on visual amenity and road safety).Clerk’s note: There is an existing approval for 2 three bedroom cottages and a four bedroom detached house at the rear of the pub and the conversion of the public house into 3 cottages (43/2007/095LB) has been approved by Taunton DBC. This application was deferred at the September meeting pending the receipt of the comments of Somerset Highways.
